Valve control device for internal combustion engine

The valve control device has two selectively engaged tappets acting with two cam profiles (7,8). The primary tappet is pivoted to an axis (12) at one end and to the valve stem (14) at the other. The other tappet is a secondary one, turning on the primary tappet about a second axis (13) parallel to the first one. A switchable support element (10) acts on one of the tappets.
