PURPOSE:To obtain continuously a thin sheet having uniform strength and good quality by disposing a pouring nozzle having ejecting ports which face diagonally upward in the lower part of the nozzle in such a way that the nozzle is immersed in the molten metal pool in the upper part of the gap between twin rolls. CONSTITUTION:The bottom end of a refractory nozzle 1 is closed and ejecting ports 2 facing diagonally upward are provided at >=2 points on the outside circumference of said bottom end. The nozzle 1 is installed to the upper part of the gap G between the internally coolable twin rolls 3 in proximity thereto and are so disposed that the ports 2 at the bottom end of the nozzle 1 is immersed into the molten metal pool 4 to be formed in the upper part of the gap G. The thin plate having the uniform strength and good quality without sheet breakage, sheet cracking, thickness fluctuation, etc. is cast continuously by the above-mentioned constitution. |
