Aqueous polyaddition product dispersion, useful as a binding agent for the internal coating of food and beverage containers

An aqueous dispersion a polyaddition product of: (A) a carboxylated alkylidenepolyphenol, optionally-containing methylol groups; and (B) epoxy resins, having on average two 1,2-epoxy groups per molecule is claimed. The polyaddition product has a number average mol. wt. of 600-10,000 g/mol. Independent claims are included for: (i) a process for the production of the polyaddition product (AB) by at least partially-neutralizing with a nitrogen base, removal of organic solvent and dispersion of the resulting neutralized product; (ii) a coating agent containing the product (AB).
