The invention concerns a heat accumulator, especially a latent heat accumulator, with heat insulation, with at least one inlet and one outlet and with collection spaces for the heat transfer medium, which are in fluid connection with the accumulator core surrounded by a housing, in which flow paths (tubes) are arranged, and which has spaces between the flow paths, in which a phase change material is situated. Such heat accumulators can be adapted better to smaller and angled incorporation spaces, while retaining high storage capacity, high loading and unloading dynamics and more favorable manufacturing costs, if the flow paths (5) according to the invention consist of roughly oval or flat tubes that are guided undulating or in spiral fashion through the accumulator core (6), and if the spaces (9) for the phase change material are formed between the individual flow paths (5) and between the undulations (10) or turns (18) of individual flow paths (5) and are occupied, at least primarily, with heat conducting elements (8), which are metallically connected to the flow paths (5) and are thin sheet strips that have a width that is greater than the large diameter of the tubes forming the flow paths (5).
