<p>An exciter which has an AC/AC converter (29) connected to the output line (2) of an AC generator (1), having a voltage holding function, and comprising an AC/DC converter (13), a capacitor (14) connected to the output of the converter (13), and a DC/AC converter (15) connected to the capacitor (14), and which excites the exciting winding (12) of the generator (1) by means of an AC/DC converter (10) which is connected to the output side of the AC/AC converter (29) having the voltage level holding function and can control current. Even when the voltage at the output line (2) drops due to the abnormality of a system (4), the exciting current of the generator (1) can be maintained at a sufficiently high value, because the energy accumulated in the capacitor (14) is discharged and the voltage can be maintained for some time.</p> |
