<p>A structure of a linear motor having a polygonal motor coil is disclosed. The shape of the motor can be a hexagon, rhombus, or double rhombus. Each of coil units is a close-contacting conductor wire strap enclosing a space and is formed of a flexible circuit material or is formed into a shape like a racing track or a folded-back end by winding the material. The coil units are so arranged as to overlap with each other to form a motor coil required to have a substantially uniform thickness and a high conductor density. The motor coil exhibits a high efficiency and has a substantially uniform thickness and a generally flat cross section. Therefore the motor coil can be easily fitted and easily detached from the magnetic track of a linear motor.</p> |
