SCINTILLATION HEAD

A scintillation head for detection of beta radiation from a fluid undergoing continuous flow comprises a body (10), formed of a scintillator material (11) into which is machined an elongate fluid containment volume (15) which allows passage of gases and liquids therethrough. The containment volume optimally takes the form of a spiral path extending between the centre of a circular cylindrical body and the periphery thereof.
