A method for screening a substance promoting the oligomerization of receptor protein molecules or peptide fragments thereof which comprises bringing the receptor protein molecules or peptide fragments thereof with a test substance and examining whether oligomers are formed or not thereby; an assay kit for screening a substance promoting the oligomerization of receptor protein molecules or peptide fragments thereof which contains the receptor protein molecules or peptide fragments thereof and a buffer solution; and a substance promoting the oligomerization of receptor protein molecules or peptide fragments thereof found out by using the above method.
