The first and second contact faces of the stone and the mating faces of additional stones are formed topographically identical. The contact faces may be corrugated or in S-form, and may join in a tongue and groove configuration. The contact faces are arranged in such a way that with the laying of successive stones on the first and second faces the direction of laying changes.
