The dies (12, 14) include a cavity and gate (52) to an overflow cavity (50). A lower ejector system comprises a reciprocated ejector plate (29) and a diverter peg (62) fastened to it. This blocks plastic flow through the channel, partly diverting it into the overflow cavity when retracted. A separate ejector peg (60), also fastened to the plate and acting with the diverter peg, pushes plastic out of the cavity, gate and overflow cavity, when the ejector plate is advanced. Preferred features: The dies include a pair of overflow cavities connected by a tertiary channel. The diverter peg has an end surface part-defining the molding cavity during retraction. A side face of the diverter peg forms the secondary gate, when the mold is closed and the peg is retracted. An Independent claim is also included for the corresponding ejection system.
