Method and apparatus for cleaning pipelines

The method involves blasting the pipe with pressurized air to scour the inside of the pipe, and pulling through one or more UV light sources by means of a centrally guided tension cable. The speed with which the light source is guided is controlled relative to the exothermal temperature of the hardening of the inner surface of the pipe. An Independent claim is included for an apparatus for carrying out the method. A UV light source (2) is used to draw through the pipe and a row of at least three IR light sensors (S1..Sn) measure the light intensity. Temperature measurements are made by sensors at measuring points (MP1...MPn).
