The yearling fennel is used as a raw material for extraction of essential oil, which is applied in medicine and in the food processing industry. The main component of the fennel oil - anethol, is used for anisette production. The fennel seeds contain fatty oil used mainly in the soap industry. The residue after the extraction of the two types of oil contains between 14 to 22 per cent of proteins, because of which it is a valuable food for the milk-yielding animals. The seeds are an export good. The plants have strong, erect, well-branched stems. The leaves are typical for an year-long fennel. The leave-stem parts in the flower phase are grass-green, with a green-grey shade. The umbels are of average size, well-seeded, with even or slightly concave surface. The flowers are yellow. The fruits contain two seeds of elongated shape and slightly visible ribbness on the protruding side. The variety is reproduced through seeds. The seed output is 120-135 kg/decare, while the content of essential oil in them is 3 per cent. The anethol content in the essential oil is 75.94 per cent on average, while of fenhon - 4.904 per cent.
