The control system has a servo braking device (12) with an inner chamber and piston arrangement dividing the chamber into constant and variable pressure chambers, a servo mechanism (26,30) which produces a pressure difference between the chambers in response to actuation of the brake pedal, a second servo mechanism (28,30,32), main cylinder (16), several wheel cylinders (54,56,64,66), several hydraulic lines (44,46,50,52,60,62), several pressure relief valves (94,96,110,112) and a controller (34). The controller controls the second servo mechanism, pressure relief and buildup valves (82,84,86,88) so that the pressure difference can build up independently of brake pedal actuation, resulting in a larger force.
