<p>In order to enhance the presence of the image displayed on the screen of an image display, the illumination in the appreciation space where an appreciator appreciating the image is controlled in accordance with the image displayed. More specifically, one or more light sources installed in the appreciation space are controlled so that at least one parameter out of the level, light color, luminous intensity distribution, and direction of the illumination in the appreciation space is made substantially coincident with the corresponding parameter in a virtual image space imagninarily created from the displayed image.</p> |
