The present invention relates to a liquid disinfecting composition comprisin g an effective amount to a disinfecting material and a poly(alkylen glycol) alkyl ether having the following formula: R1-O-(CH2-CHR2O)n-R3, wherein R1 a nd R2 each independently are hydrogen or a substitued or unsubstituted, saturat ed or unsaturated, linear or branched hydrocarbon chain having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms or a hydroxy bearing linear or branched hydrocarbon chain havin g from 1 to 30 carbon atoms, R3 is a substituted or unsubstituted, saturated o r unsaturated, linear or branched hydrocarbon chain having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms or a hydroxy bearing linear or branched hydrocarbon chain having from 7- 30 carbon atoms, and n is greater than 2, or a mixture thereof. The present invention also encompasses a process of disinfecting a hard-surface with suc h a composition.
