A device (700), and method for serially transplanting hair grafts into tissue which has been incised, and dilated is disclosed. The device (700) includes a housing (12), a cartridge (710), and a means for moving a hair graft from a delivery position of the cartridge (710) into the tissue. The cartridge (740) is disposed on the housing (12), and has a plurality of openings (726) each adapted to retain a hair graft for transplantation. Furthermore, the cartridge (740) is indexable to serially align these openings (726) to the delivery position.
