PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst excellent in durability in a steam-contg. atmosphere at a higher temp. by incorporating copper into a zeolite under coexistence of a reducing agent, ammonia and an inert gas, carrying out drying under reduced pressure or in an inert gaseous atmosphere and further incorporating Ag. SOLUTION: ZSM5 zeolite is added to an aq. soln. of a Cu ammine complex, hydrazine monohydrate is added while bubbling gaseous He and they are agitated while bubbling gaseous He. After filtration, the resultant cake is added to other soln. and they are similarly agitated. After filtration, the resultant cake is dried with a vacuum drier to obtain a Cu zeolite catalyst contg. copper in a Cu to Al2 ratio of 1.92. This Cu zeolite is added to an aq. soln. of AgNO3 , they are agitated and the prepd. slurry is filtered. The resultant cake is dried with a vacuum drier to obtain the objective catalyst having a Cu to Al2 ratio of 1.86 and an Ag to Al ratio of 0.50. |
