PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively perform the prophylaxis and treatment of infectious diseases of aquatic animals without having a bad influence upon the living environment by feeding the aquatic animals with a feed containing a specific peptide or the like as an active ingredient and adding electrolytic water to raise them. SOLUTION: To aquatic animals such as eels and red sea breams in culture is fed a feed containing a lactoferrin, a hydrolysate of a lactoferrin, a peptide such as a peptide separated from the hydrolysate and having an amino acid sequence of the formula (Xaa is an arbitrary amino acid other than Cys), a synthetic peptide identical to the above peptide or a mixture of two or more of said peptides as an active ingredient preferably in an amount of 0.001 wt.% or more, and to the water in which the aquatic animals are cultured is added the electrolytic water obtained by adding hydrochloric acid to sodium chloride- free water and passing the hydrochloric acid-added water into a barrier- membrane-free electrolytic cell to electrolyze it, and having a sodium ion concentration of 200 ppm or less. Thus, the aquatic animals are raised under the prophylaxis and treatment of infectious diseases. |
