PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing holding structure improved in operability or the like of a transmission by making a retainer, holding each bearing for a main shaft and a countershaft on a casing, splittable by means of both holding sections. SOLUTION: A retainer 50 is mounted along the casing of a transmission. Both first and second holding sections 61 and 62 locate a bearing supporting a main shaft or a countershaft free of rotation and prevent this bearing from slipping off. Both these first and second holding sections 61 and 62 are splittable in a part 65 to be weakened by a groove 66 and a loophole 67. When there is only one side at the bearing side where removal is required, since the retainer 50 is split in halves, so that a corresponding holding section alone is removed from the casing, and thus the replacement or the like of the required bearing is made possible to be done in this way. |
