PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal for pressure contact connection which is securely held by a housing and can cope with a thickish cable. SOLUTION: This terminal 3 for pressure contact connection integrally has a flat terminal base 11 placed in parallel with a horizontal plane including an axis line of a cable C and at least two pressure contact parts 12 in blade shapes, which are extended downward from the terminal base 11, are mutually placed with a distance kept between them in the axis direction, and are mutually displaced conversely in a thickness direction of the terminal base 11. In this case, as for a terminal 3 in which a protruding temporary engagement part 14 and an actual engagement part 13 to be engaged with a rim 6A1 of a press fitting groove 6 of a housing are formed on an upper part and a lower part of its side rim respectively, both the temporary engagement part 14 and the actual engagement part 13 are provided on a side rim of the terminal base 11.
