PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organically covered metallic sheet having good corrosion resistance without coating, corrosion resistance after coating, spot weldability and coating property by electrodeposition without carrying out treatment with a chromium compd. SOLUTION: A base metallic sheet is electroplated using a zinc electroplating bath contg. Co ions and a high molecular org. material to form a plating film consisting of 0.5-5% Co, 0.5-5% of the high molecular org. material and the balance substantially consisting of zinc on at least one face of the sheet. The plated sheet is then coated with a resin coating material contg. fine silica particles to form a resin coating contg. 10-40% fine silica particles and having 0.3-2μm thickness on the plating film and the objective organically covered metallic sheet is produced.
