PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of interference due to stray light between adjacent optical elements and to eliminate electromagnetic wave interference (EMI). SOLUTION: An optical component 28 provided with a light emitting element 25 and a light receiving element 26 side by side on a mount 24 is provided in an IC package. A ferrule which contains optical fibers 27(A) and 27(B) is fitted integrally to the IC package. In this case, the end surface of the optical fibers 27(A) and 27(B) face the light emitting element 25 or light receiving element 26. The light emitting element 25 is covered with a metallic cover 31. Light (stray light) other than light entering the optical fibers 27 from the light emitting element 25 is cut off by the cover 31, so the stray light never exerts any adverse influence on the adjacent light receiving element 26. Further, an electromagnetic wave generated when the light emitting element 25 emits light does not leak out because of the magnetic shield effect of the cover 31, so electromagnetic wave interference can be suppressed. |
