A bristle portion (24) formed from a relatively soft polymeric material is molded to partially envelop the first portion and to engage positively with a groove (32) and undercut (34) formed in the first portion in order to attach the bristle portion to the first portion. The bristle portion is formed with a plurality of integral bristles (20) some of which may have a different cross section from that of the remainder of the bristles.
