<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which estimates and displays the remaining usable time of a battery used for a battery-driven computer system, etc. SOLUTION: A remaining battery capacity reading means 31 reads the remaining capacity of a battery 1 from the battery 1 and stores the time elapsed from a conventional time and the remaining capacity of the battery 1 on a battery consumption information table 41. A battery consumption rate calculating means 32 calculates the consumed capacity of the battery, from the preceding timer interruption to the present time from the present remaining capacity of the batter 1 which is obtained from the remaining battery capacity reading means 31 and the proximate remaining capacity data stored on the table 41, and stores the calculated consumed capacity on the table 41 as the consumption rate of the battery 1. An estimated operable time calculating means 33 estimates the remaining operable time for a computer system, which is driven by means of the battery 1 from the present remaining capacity of the battery 1 and the battery consumption rate of the battery 1 calculated by means of the calculating means 32.</p> |
