<p>The apparatus provides an enclosure (62) for a medical waste continer (10) and a system (22) for making an opening at an upper portion of the container through which a disinfecting solution can be injected (24) and for cutting (42) a lower portion of the container to allow the waste to drain out. The outside of the container is sprayed with disinfecting solution and the spent solution is evacuated through a drain (76). The container may be fully filled with solution through the opening before cutting the lower portion.</p> |
