PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition having excellent liquid permeability and a high absorption rate under pressure by mixing a water-absorbing resin with microparticles being monodisperse or having a specified sphericity. SOLUTION: It requires that the microparticles should be monodisperse or have a sphericity of 1-1.1, and it is desirable that they are ones being monodisperse and having a sphericity of 1-1.1. The phrase 'being monodisperse' means that the particles have a sharp particle size distribution and are not agglomerated each other. More particularly, microparticles having a particle size distribution index (d25 /d75 ) of 3 or below and a mean particle diameter of 0.01-10μm are desirable. The microparticles are particularly desirably silica microparticles and are used in an amount of, desirably, 0.01-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. water-absorbing resin. The water-absorbing resin is desirably one with its surface and proximity being crosslinked. Thus, a composition having an absorption rate under pressure of 30 g/g or above can be obtained.
