PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable dispersion of titanyl phthalocyanine having a crystal structure useful for a photoelectric transducing element, a process for producing the same, and an organic photoconductive layer containing such titanyl phthalocyanine. SOLUTION: There are provided a dispersion of an organic pigment prepared by dispersing a titanyl phthalocyanine which is amorphous in crystal form in an X-ray diffraction spectrum using the Cu-Kαline in an organic solvent to convert it into a titanyl phthalocyanine having a crystal form having main peaks of Bragg angles 2θof 7.5 deg.±0.2 deg., 25.3 deg.±0.2 deg., and 28.6 deg.±0.2 deg. and an organic photoconductive layer containing such titanyl phthalocyanine.
