PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment process which can be flexibly used for a variety of wastes and biomass. SOLUTION: A desired process comprises the steps of (a) subjecting wastes or biomass substances to thermal decomposition at a temperature of 350-650 deg.C; (b) subjecting the gas having been released in the course of the thermal decomposition under the influence of an oxygen-rich gas and, optionally, steam introduced from the outside without condensation to cracking treatment at 1,100-1,600 deg.C; (c) gasifying, vaporizing or, if necessary, melting residues liberated in the course of the thermal decomposition at a temperature of 1,200-1,700 deg.C at a pressure of 0.5-1.5 bar under reducing conditions; (d) discarding or, if necessary, recovering the molten slag or the metal condensate obtained in step (c); and (e) subjecting the gas combined with or without the formed gas obtained in the course of steps (b) and (c) to gas cleaning. |
