METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR NEWSPAPER MULTICOLOR COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To improve a cross direction register accuracy by reducing A cross direction spread of a moving sheet in a four-layer newspaper offset printing rotary press. CONSTITUTION:After unicolor printing on both sides by a printing unit 3 in the first layer of a four-layer newspaper offset printing rotary press, a moving sheet 7 of a predetermined width W is cut into two half-width sheets by a slitter 13, one half 7a of which is delivered to a folding machine 15, and the other half 7b to printing units 4 to 6 in the second to the fourth layers and is leyered over the other half-width sheet 7a by a turn bar 12 and delivered to the folding machine after multicolor printing on its both sides by the printing units.
