POWER EQUIPMENT FOR CRANE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide power equipment for crane which is capable of reducing the engine generator capacity and energy loss in the whole loading and unloading cycle as a while. SOLUTION: AC electric power from an engine generator 12 is converted into a DC power by a converter 13 and is fed to a DC bus 14. A motor is connected to a DC bus through an inverter and to a storage 24 is also connected to it. A current control function is added to the converter, and a detector 25 detects whether or not the storage is in an overcharged condition. If the overcharged condition is detected, the detector 25 sends an overcharge detection signal. The converter responds to the overcharge detection signal to control the DC electrical energy. The storage is charged or discharged according to the load imposed on the motor.
