摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to compute the deviation of an output light intensity due to the use of a broadband light beam source by modulating the phase of a light beam stepwise at the end of an optical fiber with propagation time intervals in the optical fiber to obtain the output light intensity of an interferometer. SOLUTION: The phase of an optical beam of the optical fiber gyro is stepwise modulated at one or both ends of an optical fiber with time intervals equal to the propagation time in an optical fiber. This step is in a range of 0 to 2π-δrad. (δinfinitesimal) and the sum of the estimate of the Sagnac phase residueϕSE with reverse sign and quantity 2πk+JϕM where index k takes -1, 0, or 1 and index j takes -1 or 1. The phase angleϕM is positive integer less thanπrad. The interferometer output light intensity is obtd. to determine the Sagnac finge count, the error of output light intensity about specified values of the index pair k, j is obtd. to obtain the probability estimate of the index pair k, j, and the output deviation of the optical fiber gyro is determined from them.
