摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unify a gas flow and to improve power generation efficiency by making the cross sectional shapes of gas passages at various sections nearly equal in the perpendicular direction to the gas flow. SOLUTION: Unit cells 1 are aligned in the same direction in a power generation chamber, the unit cells 1 are connected together vertically and horizontally via conductive felts 1, the unit cells 1 on the uppermost stage and lowermost stage are connected to current collecting members 4a, 4b via the conductive felts 2 respectively, and electric power is taken out by the opposite current collecting members 4a, 4b. The shape of the current collecting members 4a, 4b is made nearly equal to the cross sectional shape of gas passages 6 formed by the unit cells 1 in the perpendicular direction to the gas flow in the gas passages 6. The cross sectional shape of gas passages 8 formed with the inner walls 20 of the power generating chamber adjacent to the unit cells 1 and the unit cells 1 is made nearly equal to that of the gas passages 6 formed with the unit cells l in the perpendicular direction to the gas flow in the gas passages 6, thereby the gas flow can be unified.
