The instrument has a foot (2), which slides over a graduated rule (1). A movable measuring rod (3) is fixed to the foot. A removable measuring rod (4) can be fitted to either end of the rule, depending upon the measurement to be made. The rule has two graduation scales on the same face, a normal scale (5) for measuring disc thickness and a scale (6) for measuring the interior diameter of the brake drums.
