The side rest's (2) top and bottom end position is secured by catches positioned between the side rest and pivot levers (3). The catches are joined to a control (14), pref. in the side rest's top edge part. The control consists of a disc (16) with a grip opening (15) and height-adjustable inside the side rest. The side rest and pivot lever are prevented from swivelling by a securing bracket (5) in the area of the pivot bearing (4) when the side rest is not completely pulled out. The catches consist of a bolt (13) joined to the control and a flanged pulley in which are notches (8) joined to an axle (6) of the pivot lever.
