<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque sensor in a simple structure in which the length of a shaft is shortened. SOLUTION: A torque sensor is composed of an input shaft 1 on which helical grooves 2 are formed, an output shaft 3 on which axial straight grooves 4 are formed, a torsion bar 5 to connect the input shaft 1 and the output shaft 3 and exert a spring force in the direction of rotation, a plurality of steel balls 6, a holder 7 to hold the steel balls 6 at regular intervals, a slider 8 surrounding the peripheries of the steel balls 6 capable of both circumferential rotation and axial sliding together with the steel balls 6, and a potentiometer 12 with a detecting lever 11 pivoting a roller 10 engaged with a ring-shaped groove 9 formed on the peripheral surface of the slider 8. Then at least two of the steel balls 6 are each engaged with the helical grooves 2 of the input shaft 1, at least two of the rest of the steel balls 6 are each engaged with the straight grooves 4 of the output shaft 3, and in addition, the slider 8 is biased in one direction by a spring 13.</p> |
