PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To match an edit use image with a character image in a synthesized image in the case of synthesizing character with the image. SOLUTION: In the case of synthesizing a low resolution image represented by low resolution image data SL, a character image generating means 21 generates magnified character image data TH resulting from magnifying a character image to be synthesized, the magnified character image data TH are reduced by a 1/n reduction means 22 to obtain reduced character image data TL. An edit means 23 uses the reduced character image data TL and the low resolution image data SL to generate an edit image. The edit procedure and the magnified character image data TH are included in an edit description file F and image server 1 uses a synthesis means 13 to generate synthesis image data G by using the magnified character image data TH and high resolution image data SH. The synthesis image data G are outputted by an image output means 14 as a print image. |
