PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate a white paper document without being disturbed by reverse-side transmission, dust, etc., by detecting the total number of black pixels of binarized image data of one page of the document, comparing the detected number with a prescribed number, and deciding whether or not the document is white paper. SOLUTION: The image processor 1 consists of a copying machine, a facsimile device, etc., and a scanner part 2 is equipped with an image sensor such as a CCD and an A/D conversion part, converts a document image into a pixel signal, and sends it to an image processing part 3. The image processing part 3 converts the pixel signal into binarized image data. A white paper detection part 4 counts the total number Kg of black pixels in one page of the document and decides that the document is white paper when the total number Kg of black pixels is less than the prescribed reference number set previously Tg of black pixels. A control part 7 stores programs for systems for white paper detection control processing and adapts a black run reference white paper decision system and a black rectangular reference white paper decision system as specified in addition to a black pixel reference white paper decision system. |
