PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable flat heater element maintaining the performance without troubles over a long period of time. SOLUTION: A heat generating part 24 is composed of mock leno weave or leno weave tissue using heat-resistant non-conductive yarn (21a, 21b) and carbon fiber 22, and electrode parts 26 on both sides of it are composed of plain weave tissue where conductive wires 23 are interwoven crossly with the carbon fiber 22, also buffer parts 25 of plain weave using heat-resistant non- conductive yarn 21c are provided between the heat generating part 24 and the electrodes parts 26, thus the heat generating fabric 2 is formed. The flat heater element 1 being laminated body of the heat generating fabric 2 and a coating body 3 is obtained by piling up the heat generating fabric 2 and sheet-like non-vulcanized rubber compounds with adhesives 4 being sandwiched between them. The adhesive is, preferably, a mixture formed by adding rubber latex in an initial mixture of resorcin and formaldehyde. This flat heater element 1 is suitable for freeze-proofing/snow-melting roads, landing strips, athletic fields, etc. |
