The invention relates to a method for use in connection with a flexographic printing press, the ink equipment of the said printing press comprising a first roll 1; 2 and a second roll 2; 7, the axes of which are substantially horizontal and between which a material web that is to be printed is designed to run. According to the invention the method consists of a stage in which a predetermined clearance is set between the first roll 1; 2 and the second roll 2; 7, following which the first roll 1; 2 and the second roll 2; 7 are rotated in the opposite direction to the material web 3 with a predetermined circumferential speed in relation to the material web 3 and coating agent 4 is fed into the nip 6; 8 between the second roll 2;7 and the material web 3, in order to coat one side of the said material web 3. <IMAGE>
