<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed lead-acid battery which can be made to cost low by making it possible to enhance the working efficiency of formation processes. SOLUTION: In a forming method, an electrolyte is injected into a battery jar 1 from a liquid injection port 3, and after an exhaust valve 4 is mounted in the liquid injection port 3, a cover plate 5 having a hinge part 51 is bent upward along the hinge part 51 and partly mounted in the liquid injection port 3. Thereafter, the electrolyte clinging to the cover plate 5 is removed and the cover plate 5 bent upward is restored to its original state to attach its remaining part to the liquid injection port 3. A sealed lead-acid battery fitted with the cover plate 5 having the hinge part 51 suited for such a forming method is disclosed.</p> |
