PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the drop of a failure detection speed and detection accuracy by a huge data processing load when a failure detection is carried out uniformly and unrelatedly to a running state. SOLUTION: When a failure (lock-up ON failure) in which a lock-up clutch is stuck in a tightened state is generated, at the time of such prescribed running state that a vehicular acceleration is a prescribed value or more and a throttle opening is a prescribed value or more, in consideration of enlarging of the aggravation degree of an emission in comparison with the other running state, the subroutine of lock-up ON failure and normality judgement is executed only at the prescribed running state time. At the time of running state except this, the lock-up ON failure and normality judgement are omitted. |
