PURPOSE: To inspect and maintain the front section of a machine body easily in a tunnel excavator for a reaning pit in a type having a main beam. CONSTITUTION: The rectangular cross sectional section 4a and cylindrical cross sectional section 4b of a main beam are extended along the pit walls of a pilot pit 2 and a reaning pit 3. A main gripper 13 bearing the rectangular cross sectional section 4a to the pit wall through a carrier is installed while a nose gripper 12 bearing the cylindrical cross sectional section to the pit wall is mounted, and paths are set up into the main beam 4a and the carrier 17. An operator can move up to a deck 30 for inspection at the front end section of the main beam through the paths. |
