PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver where standby power for transmission of view history information is reduced. SOLUTION: A broadcast receiver that sends view history information of a received broadcast program to a center through a communication means is provided with operation time management means 204, 207 that manage a transmission operation time of the view history information, a timer 209 that counts time, a comparison means 208 that compares time counted by the timer with an operation time managed by the operation time management means, a power supply control means 210 that controls a main power supply 211 of the broadcast receiver based on the comparison result of the comparison means, a view history information management means 205 that manages the view history information, and a view history information transmission means 206 that sends the view history information. When the current time comes to the transmission time of the view history information, the main power supply is turned on to reduce the standby power.
