Cakes are decorated by embossing a design in a sheet of marzipan, using a stamp. The stamp is a rigid plate with handles, 2-20 mm thick and 25-2400 cm<2> in area, and produces a design 1-3 mm deep. It can be round, square, oval or rectangular.
