In a blower for forcibly circulating a laser gas in a gas laser, a shaft (2) of a vane wheel (1) is mounted with an intermediate member (66) which is rotatable therewith, and rings (641, 642) are fitted in annular grooves (651, 652) formed in the intermediate member (66). A ring holder (63) an inner surface of which is always kept in contact with outer circumferential surfaces of the rings (641, 642) is provided on a bearing holder (60) retaining a bearing (5) which supports the shaft (2). Consequently, gaseous impurities passing through the bearing (5) and flowing toward a gas laser circulating passage positioned on the upper side thereof are blocked owing to a narrow axial clearance between the rings (641, 642) and annular grooves (651, 652).
