The rotor shaft of the electric motor (1) is connected through a gear (5) to a further shaft (6). The two axes (13,14) are at right angles. Power is transmitted through a train of gears (9,10,11) to the drive roller (3). The gear can swing elastically through a limited angle, about the axis (14) of the drive shaft.
