A brushless motor has: a rotating magnet which is supported in a housing and has a north and south pole which are magnetised alternately along a peripheral direction whereby the rotating magnet rotates, namely as a consequence of an applied electromagnetic force; a stator which generates a rotating magnetic field at the rotating magnet; and a plate-shaped magnetic element which is provided opposite the stator whereby during the rotation of the rotating magnet. The magnetic element forms a section of the magnetic circuit and whereby with the stopping of the rotating magnet, the magnetic element holds a stopped state of the rotating magnet as a consequence of attraction or repulsion which is generated between the rotating magnet and the magnetic element.
