<p>A method and equipment for the detection and analysis of the quantity of particles which are in or are precipitated in a liquid, for example asphaltenes which are precipitated in oil. The liquid is circulated through a cell (7) which can be trans-illuminated, concentrated, strong light is supplied from a light source (8) to one side of the cell (7) and a digital camera (4), highly magnified (5, 6), takes pictures from the opposite side of the cell.
