The invention relates to a closure element (1) for openings in vehicle doors, whereby the door of the motor vehicle contains an outer wall (6) and an inner wall (13) with a damp area (18) arranged therebetween, in addition to functional parts that are disposed inside the damp area (18) and can preferably be pre-mounted on a unit carrier (2) and can be inserted therewith into an opening of the inner wall (13). The closure element (1) closes an opening in the unit carrier (2) or the inner wall (3). The closure element does this by means of a first ring-shaped part (16) which is associated with and adapted to the rim (19) of the opening and encompasses said rim (19). A closure cap (7) substantially covering the surface of the opening can be detachably inserted into the ring-shaped part.
