The contact pressures of the pivotal or sliding sealing strips (8) are adapted to the gas pressures of the allocated displacement chambers as also their peripheral speed by the multi-lobed swing pistons (8) as exposed to gas pressure and disbalancers (12) due to the fact that both lobes (8b,8c) are simultaneously loaded by the gas pressures in the two chambers being sealed. Thus each lobe controllably applies contact by the allocated sealing edge (8c) with the result that the inertial forces of the disbalancers contribute increasing opposition. The sealing edge contact pressure is reinforced by compression springs (22). Free spaces to the rear of the gas-loaded piston lobes are sealed in relation to the chambers and relieved of pressure by ports (16) and/or channels.
